With nearly 25 years in optics, starting as a dispensing optician and specialising in contact lenses and optometry, I have a particular passion for fitting contact lenses and addressing conditions like dry eyes. With more than 25 years in the optics, Vishal is our highly skilled Resident Optometrist, trained in both community and hospital settings. Bhavik Acharya completed his university training at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital and has been committed to community care for over 15 years. Throughout his career, Bhavik has developed a deep passion for children’s eye care and is now a Regional School Vision Practitioner.
Specialising in addressing reading and behavioral difficulties, Bhavik provides specialised treatments that enhance visual performance, such as muscle control therapy, colour overlays, and colorimetry. His expertise is invaluable in helping children overcome visual challenges that can impact their learning and development, ensuring they receive personalised care tailored to their unique needs.

Jas has been with the practice for several years, starting her journey with us while still at school. Since then, she has grown into an indispensable member of our team. Originally starting as a receptionist, Jas has quickly developed a knack for glass repairs and now plays a key role in helping our patients select their perfect eyewear.

I was recommended Stephen H Davis as being particularly good for children, and this is definitely the case. My child has needed glasses since he was a toddler and has received a great service here for a number of years. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the optician is kind, communicative and extremely thorough. My child also enjoys coming here as he is fascinated by the equipment - his questions are always answered with much patience and good humour
I recently visited this optometrist for a contact lense check. Everything was exeptional. The appointments started on time, the optometrist was highly knowledgable and skilled, the care was patient-focused and comprehensive. I left with a much better understanding of how to pro-actively protect my eye health, with a much improved set of lenses, and with an economical lense subscription that includes yearly check-ups. I highly recommend this place!
Absolutely excellent. The screw had come out on one of the arms of my glasses, and they fitted/replaced it free of charge, on the spot. Can not recommend them enough, will definitely go there for my next eye-test glasses/update.
After having issues with my eyes and not getting anywhere with the GP I decided to go to Stephen H Davis Optometrist as they were local. Very pleasant experience and thorough eye test. All staff were welcoming and no pushy sales tactics. Would recommend a local business like them any day over a big brand optician's.
